Information, purposes and choices

What we process, why and on what basis

Country, language, appearance and Saved places are stored only on your device after you use those controls. Saved places contain public listing IDs. This storage is necessary to provide the choices you request; you can remove it on our device storage page.

If you choose Use my location, your browser sends your coordinates to discgolf.page to find nearby courses. We use them for that request and do not keep them. Place searches and forecasts are relayed to Open-Meteo. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing the directory features you ask to use.

Course correction reports are sent to DiscGolfAPI for review. If you contact us, we use your name, email, enquiry category and message to review and reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and improving accurate listings. Please do not send sensitive personal information.

If you subscribe, Brevo receives your email, opt-in status, signup website, browser language and consent wording version. We send marketing updates only with your consent. You can withdraw it at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email.

Hosting, security and disclosures

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site, processes request and security data, and validates Turnstile challenges. Brevo delivers contact messages and requested email updates. Open-Meteo supplies place and weather data. OpenStreetMap receives a request only after you choose to load its map or follow its link. DiscGolfAPI receives course corrections. Retailers receive the usual request data when you follow a retailer link and apply their own privacy policy.

Some processors may handle information outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where a restricted transfer applies, we require the provider's contractual safeguards, such as approved standard contractual clauses and the UK transfer addendum, or rely on an applicable adequacy regulation. Some providers process information outside Australia. Where Australian privacy law applies, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. Some providers process information internationally. Where data-transfer rules apply, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards. Contact us if you would like details about the safeguards relevant to your information.

How long we keep information

We normally delete contact enquiries within 12 months of resolving them. Brevo keeps an active subscriber record until you unsubscribe; after that, a minimal suppression record may be retained so we do not email you again. Course corrections are retained according to DiscGolfAPI's policy. Operational security data is kept only for the period configured with our providers and reviewed against the need to detect abuse and incidents. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices and rights

You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and withdraw consent. You also have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Rights can depend on the circumstances, and we may need to verify a request. Email frank@dscglf.net; we aim to respond within one month.
