Course Owner, Toby Green,
puts you in the picture...
Through the soggy autumn months Britain's best course designers
have been re-thinking how best to adapt the existing courses
to accommodate a 'full house' of 144 players next summer.
Key changes so far:
Goolagong Dip, the infamous Goolagong basket has been moved
3 metres from the water's edge, so we can look forward to
plenty of quacking at those who fall short! For those who
haven't seen this hole, imagine a tee some 40 metres above
a pond needing a drive of around 100 metres to clear the
water. Go right and you're in a mass of trees. Go too far
and you're in trees. Go
left and you're either wet or in more trees. Enjoy!
Bowling's Hill, Beaminster View, John's Gate are all to
be played backwards, so we end up attacking Minn's Gate
from near the old green of John's Gate. That's a blind drive
through a gap that's six metres wide, 25 metres from the
tee. If you drove straight and level for 100 metres your
disc would be about 30 metres above the basket. You figure
it out!
Badger's Hotel: you are on the top of a steep slope in a
wood. There's a stream running parallel to the throw about
25 metres below on your right at the bottom of the slope.
The basket is only about 50 metres in front, but to get
there you need to drive through a 1.75 metre gap between
two trees which are roughly 12 metres from the tee. Who's
going to get the ace?
The course is covered in snow
at the moment, but in February work starts to level tees
and greens and make all the improvements needed to make
the course worthy of being the venue for the European Championship.
We're looking forward to it.

Tournament Qualification
European residents only.
A guide to player residency is being written. When ready
it will be published on this website.
Field size - 144 players maximum.
Each country has been allocated a quota of places based
on the strength of the sport in that country. For example,
Sweden is recognised as the strongest disc golf nation in
Europe, therefore Sweden has been allocated the largest
quota of places in the tournament.
The quota attributed to each country is being finalised.
When ready it will be published on this website.
In the case of a country's players out-numbering the places
they have been allocated, the National Association of that
country will be requested to select the players they wish
to compete.
Once the site is live, we
advise all players interested in competing to 'apply' through
the registration process, regardless of whether they expect
to be nominated by their National Association.'
Player Registration
Key registration dates and procedure are to be confirmed.
When ready these will be published on this website.
Player Divisions
We will give players the chance to register in the following
divisions. However the Tournament Committee reserves the
right to withdraw a division if an insufficent number of
players register in it - Open, Women, Master, Grand Master,
Junior.
Accommodation + Travel
Our transport and accomodation officers are currently researching
the possible options available to players travelling to
and staying in Beaminster. Their findings will be published
shortly.
